Professional watch cleaning.
At a hobbyist price.

High-end cleaning machines cost €1,000–€3,000. This is a motorized mod for the Chrono Clean that does the same job — variable speed, auto-reversal, programmable cycles, spin cycle, phone control. It's a personal project.

Professional watch cleaning machines cost a small fortune.

A proper cleaning machine — the kind watchmakers use — will set you back €1,000 to €3,000. They spin parts at precise speeds, reverse direction automatically, and run timed cycles. They work beautifully.

Most hobbyists make do with a cheap ultrasonic cleaner and a lot of patience. The results are fine. But fine isn't the same as right.

This project tries to change that. It's a motorized mod for the Chrono Clean — variable speed, auto-reversal, programmable cycles — built because the alternative costs ten times as much.

What it does.
No more, no less.

Variable Speed

From gentle rinse to vigorous clean — dial in the exact speed for the job.

Auto-Reversal

Direction changes on a timer — just like high-end machines — for thorough, even cleaning.

Machine Presets

Built-in profiles that replicate the cycles of professional cleaning machines.

Custom Cycles

Create and save your own wash, rinse, and dry sequences. Your machine, your rules.

Spin Cycle

High-speed spin at the end of a cycle to throw off excess fluid — parts come out drier.

Phone Control

Start, stop, and monitor your cycle from a companion app. No buttons on the machine.

No drilling. No permanent changes.
Just four screws.

Setup — once

1

Remove the handle

Undo the four screws attaching the Chrono Clean handle to the lid. Set the handle aside.

2

Mount the Watching Machine

Seat the unit so the drive gear engages the basket's top gear. Fasten it with the same four screws.

3

Power on

Connect the power cable. The unit is ready to pair.

4

Pair with your phone

Open the app, find your device, and connect. You're set up for good.

Every use

5

Load your parts

Place movement parts in the basket as usual.

6

Pick a cycle

Choose a built-in preset or build your own from the app.

7

Start — and move on

Hand-clean delicate parts, work on the case — the machine notifies you when it's done.
